What’s Wrong With This Card Solved – Bill Terry

I want to thank my readers who responded to the challenge posed in my “What’s Wrong With This Card? # 1” post. And let me tell you right off the top, I am impressed. Every respondent got something right. In fact, a few things were pointed out that I had never noticed.

Daniel & Emily noticed both the  lack of the NY on Terry’s cap, and the wrong placement of the scoreboard. This showed great attention to detail, considering how they had only attended their first ever baseball game this season (see my July 22, 2011 post).

Steve mentioned that Terry was not wearing what appeared to be a 1st baseman’s glove.

Phil saw the buildings in the background and noted how different they were from an actual New York City skyline. He also noted a problem with the scoreboard but wasn’t 100% certain he knew what it was.

Gary & Sid both immediately noticed the problem with the scoreboard, which showed the Visitors at the bottom, instead of at the top. The giveaway was that Bill Terry was wearing a home uniform, which was white with the word GIANTS on the chest. The Giants visiting uniform was gray and stated NEW YORK across the jersey.
