Update On The Lenny Green Baseball Card
My efforts to return the 1963 Topps 50th Anniversary baseball card of Lenny Green, who appears on the left in a photo from his playing days, continue. The other day I spoke with a member of the Minnesota Twins Community Relations Department who wanted to assist but didn’t have his address. Shortly after that I decided to contact the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) to see if I could get some help from them. Here is the text of the email I sent them:
I am a baseball card collector and blogger in possession of a 50th Anniversary, 1963 Topps Lenny Green card that I would like to give to him. The Topps 50th Anniversary 1963 / 2012 stamp on the card, which you can see on the scan I’ve attached, makes it special, which is why I want to give it to Mr. Green. In my opinion, the card will not be “home” until it is with him and his family. Is there a way that you can put me in touch with him or forward this email to him? My only desire is to get this card to Mr. Green, I’m very grateful for any assistance you can give me. I then signed the email with my name, address and cell phone number.

Hi Grubby Glove!
In looking for things for my father for Christmas, I stumbled upon your post. I see this is from 2013 so it is very possible that you have already passed this card to Lenny. I did want to reach out though in the chance that you have still been unable to send the card off. My father and Lenny were very close when he was young and have remained friends ever since. If you still need help, let me know.
🙂
