What’s Wrong With This Card Solved – Hanley Ramirez

Several readers submitted partially correct answers in connection with this card, identifying the incorrect number 22 on Hanley Remirez’ jersey. Of course his correct jersey number is 2. However, the question posed in the post five weeks ago asked “can you identify what’s wrong with the card and explain the circumstances that caused the error in the first place?” No one took on the second part of the challenge. Here’s the answer:

The 2011 Topps “Spot The Error” series is for those who enjoy a challenge. The subjects of this series appear exactly the same on both sides of the card, except for one tiny difference. This difference is the error to be spotted. I want to thank Jhonas, Alex of Saber Analysis and the good people at the Art of Baseball for taking whatever time it took to study the card and “spot the error.”
